During this time of the year, I really miss teaching. I miss the crafts, the Christmas programs, and the excitement the students bring to the holidays. So...I try to do a lot of the fun crafts with my boys at home.
Today, we made Reindeer Food. It is super easy, and fun for the kids!
We traced the boy's hands for the reindeer antlers.
I usually use brown construction paper, but this is what I had handy.
Then, the boys cut them out.

Then...we drew the eyes. You use white construction paper, and a black marker.
Time to glue!
Brady enjoyed the craft, too!
Time for the nose. You can use anything for the nose, we used pom-poms. In my classroom, I just used glue and glitter. I let the boys choose what color they wanted for the nose.
(red would have been the cutest, but got to let them have choices, right?) :)
Next, you take glue and let them draw a mouth.
These two wanted to make three lines for their mouths.
Jayden's finished reindeer!
Glitter works best for the mouth, but we used sprinkles, since they were handy.
The last thing you do is add the food. It's just oatmeal and glitter. I tell the boys the glitter reflects off the moon and shines bright so the reindeer will know where to land Santa's sleigh. The "oats" that the reindeer eat is just oatmeal. We sprinkle it on our grass on Christmas Eve, and the reindeer can have a snack, too!
Here are a few pics, just to catch up! I am WAY behind on the blog!
This week Jayden asked if Ben could come over and play. They had so much fun!
They loved dumping all the containers of trucks/cars out to play with...
Lunchtime!
While Ben and Jayden played upstairs, I worked on treats downstairs.
Brady "helped" me make these to send to work with Jamie.
The guys at Jamie's work loved the treats!
Hope you're having a great week!
