Jayden and I try to go on a "Special Gate" (he calls them GATES) once a month or so. We hadn't gone in a while, and what better place to go than Disneyland! I dropped Brady off at his favorite place (Gaga's house), and Jayden and I hit the rode! I waited until after naps to go, so we could stay for the firework show and watch it snow (foam) on Main Street.
We went to California Adventure first. The last time we went, Jayden wanted to ride the bumper cars, but Brady was too little to go on them. (and a lot of the rides) So, I told Jayden I would bring him back and we would have a day focused ALL on him. I've been to Disneyland many times. Except for the last 18 months since Brady has been born, I've had a pass since the year 2000. :) I can honestly say, this time was one of my favorite times ever!
These pictures were of Jayden on the tram on the way there. He was ALL smiles the entire time we were at Disneyland. He loved having my undivided attention.
We headed straight to "Bug Land!"
We not only road the bumper cars once, we rode them THREE times! CA Adventure was empty! We walked on all the rides we rode there. Jayden loved driving all by himself, and bumping into people.
I love this little guy SO much!
Hearing him giggle and seeing him smile made my night perfect.
After the bumper cars, we headed to Frances' Lady Bug teacups. Now, these are NOT my favorite ride. I asked the guy working if Jayden could ride them by himself, and Jayden had to be 7 to do so. I told Jayden I didn't think it was a fun ride, but he really wanted to go on them. SO, I sucked it up and went on them. It was completely worth it. He laughed the entire time!
Waiting for it to start...
I love these action shots. I wish I would have recorded it!
Pure joy!
After the tea cups, we found a place to sit and eat our dinner. I thought we were watching a show on Mickey's Dance Crew (which it was), but at the end, Mickey came out to dance with the rest of the crew. Jayden was so excited!
The show was actually pretty cool. The dancers were great!
After the show was over, the DJ told us to hang around if we wanted to meet Mickey! I had no idea. So, we walked over to the line and waited a few minutes...then Mickey came out. When it was Jayden's turn, he ran up and gave Mickey a hug.
Then...told Mickey to watch him dance!! Haha! It was SO funny! Mickey got down and started dancing with Jayden. Jayden kept saying the whole night,
"I can't believe I danced with Mickey!" :)
Time for a picture!
I tried to get in a picture with them, but Jayden was talking to Mickey...
remember what I had posted earlier?? This boy can talk, and talk, and talk!
We also walked on to the Monsters' Inc. ride. I didn't get any pictures there because Jayden had a death grip on me. He actually did pretty well. He does not like the Buzz Lightyear ride, but enjoyed the Monster's Inc. one. After dancing with Mickey,
we headed over to Disneyland Park.
we headed over to Disneyland Park.
Jayden wanted to ride on the Carousal.
He was pretty excited...see?
He was saying, "Yee-haw!"
Next up...Casey Jr. Train!
Now...Jayden doesn't like the dark. He doesn't like not knowing what we are going to witness, so he was a little apprehensive about this ride. He chose to ride in the Monkey Cage, and loved the idea of riding on a train, but he still wasn't too sure.
He grabbed my hand and held it tightly the entire time. I loved it. :)
He loved the ride, and wants to go on it again.
Dumbo was our next adventure. I never offer this ride because it's always a long line. This night was all about Jayden though, so I told him whatever he chose was fine with me. We only waited 20 minutes! He picked the green elephant!
So fun!
I didn't realize that it snowed twice during the night at Disneyland. We were walking around, looking at all the lights and Christmas decorations, and "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" came on and snow started falling. Jayden was so excited over it. However, he didn't like that it melted when it hit the ground. He asked how he was supposed to build a snowman! I told him Daddy would take us to Big Bear next month. :)
Small World
Snow on the Castle
Jayden told me that he was going to tell Tinkerbell that she did a great job decorating her house for Christmas. I love his little mind!
Jayden wanted to stop and watch the bakers making Peanut Brittle.
I think he actually just wanted to wave to them.
We found our spot on Main Street and waited for the Fireworks to start!
I didn't get any pictures of his face during the fireworks show. I decided to leave my camera in my backpack and spend the time holding him instead. Watching his face throughout the show was my favorite part of the night.
We stopped for a picture by the giant tree before going to the Fire Station.
This is the old Fire Station on Main Street. Walt Disney actually lived in the apartment upstairs when Disneyland first opened. Jayden loved hearing about the old fire trucks, and learning how the horses pulled the engine. They have little stales for the horses on the side of the truck.
Checking out the pole...
He wanted to sit in the back...
This is a picture of the second time it snowed.
Jayden told me, "Mommy, it is just magic."
While Jayden and I had a special "Gate" at Disneyland, my little boy was having fun at Gaga's. Gaga dropped him off to Jamie when Jamie got home from work, and Jamie said Brady loved having Daddy all to himself.
My mom sent me these pics while I was gone.
Brady decorated his tree at Gaga's, then danced with Santa.
My mom put the Santa hat on him, and he doesn't want to take it off.
He walks around saying, "Ho! Ho! Ho!"
Since big brother wasn't around, he decided to hang out with the Snowman...

We had a great night at Disneyland! I know I will have special dates with Brady when Jayden starts school soon. I enjoy every minute with my boys. The joy they bring me is indescribable. I never knew my heart could hold so much love.
